Runoff Election: April 20 – April 21

The CAPS-UAW 2026 Constitutional Convention & Vacancies Election concluded on Tuesday, April 14. While most positions were filled, the remaining seat on the Constitution and Bylaws Committee will be decided in a runoff election. This is because none of the remaining candidates received a majority vote.

The runoff election will begin Monday, April 20 at 8:00 am and close Tuesday, April 21 at 5:00 pm. Your vote helps shape the leadership and direction of our union. Only dues-paying CAPS members are eligible to vote. 

The candidates* appearing on the ballot for the remaining seat for At-large Member of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee are, in alphabetical order by last name: 

  • Triston Mosbacher
  • Katey Rein

*Please note that one candidate withdrew their name from the runoff election.

Candidate Statements for Runoff Election

 

The following position did not result in all seats being filled and will proceed to a runoff election on April 20 through April 21:

     At-large Member of the Constitution and Bylaws Committee (1 seat)

 

 

Elected by Acclamation

When the number of eligible nominees does not exceed the number of available positions, the nominee(s) shall be declared elected by acclamation and no balloting will occur for those positions. The following positions were unopposed and have been elected by acclamation:

  • District 1 Recording Secretary Head Steward: Anthony Rosas
  • District 4 Recording Secretary Head Steward: Iman Oquinn

The following four head steward positions received no nominations and will remain vacant:

  • District 6 Recording Secretary Head Steward
  • District 7 Recording Secretary Head Steward
  • District 8 Chair Head Steward
  • District 8 Recording Secretary Head Steward

 

Election Dates and Administration:

  • Call for Nominations:
    • Open: 8am Wednesday, March 18th
    • Close: 5pm Monday, April 6th
  • Election to be held during the third week of April
    • Open: 8am Monday, April 13th
    • Close: 5pm Tuesday, April 14th
  • Runoff Elections
    • Open: 8am Monday, April 20th
    • Close: 5pm Tuesday, April 21st

Nominations:

As you may recall, we had our first triennial election as part of UAW last year, and as it was our first-ever election, several positions remain vacant.

Open positions, the number of seats, and eligibility requirements for nominees and voters are summarized in the table below. All positions are for the remainder of the three-year term, which began on October 15, 2025.
