May 20, 2021 Update

The Committee. The Benefits Committee is responsible for the establishment and administration of CAPS members’ insurance and other membership-related benefits. A majority of this committee’s activity includes reviewing CAPS members’ and their dependents’ quarterly professional grant and annual scholarship applications.

Today’s Update: Re-apply for a $500 CAPS Dependent Scholarship before June 1

College costs continue to rise, and CAPS is doing its small part to help. Any CAPS member with a dependent in college or bound for college NEXT Fall may apply to CAPS for one of several $500 cash scholarships.  The online application is accessible via this link.  The deadline to apply is June 1, so don’t delay!

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant student must

  • be a dependent of a CAPS member.
  • be enrolled in an accredited university or community college (but not a vocational school) for the coming Fall.

The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the number of applicants and the availability of funds.  CAPS will announce the winners in July.

To be clear, this scholarship program is only available to dependents of CAPS members.  Fortunately, non-members can join CAPS in less than two minutes via the secure online application at http://capsscientists.org/contact/application/ and immediately qualify for all the benefits of membership – including the Dependent Scholarship Program.

And remember, the scholarship application deadline is June 1.  Don’t wait!
