February 2, 2024

CAPS has learned that CalEPA will be hosting an all-staff meeting on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 10 – 11 a.m. They tout that employees will come to “learn about CalEPA priorities for?the?year ahead, hear updates on hybrid work implementation, and get answers from CalEPA leaders to employee questions on various topics.” We would love to ask questions of our CalEPA leaders!

THE ACTION: Submit one question to your CalEPA leadership before the deadline on Friday, February 2, 2024 at noon.

WHEN: BEFORE Friday, February 2, 2024 at 12 p.m.

WHERE: Online. Find the link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HRHJFSL.

WHAT: CAPS encourages you to submit one 500-character or fewer question about CAPS’ contract and fight for pay equity. Here’s an example:

“Rank-and-file scientists at CalEPA are compensated >42% less than their peers at CalEPA doing similar work, and >62% less than their supervisors. The increased costs of baseless in-office requirements place an inequitable economic and mental health burden on rank-and-file state scientists. This egregious ongoing inequality leads to increased feelings of resentment in the workplace.  How will the CalEPA support Scientists’ efforts for a fair contract and pay equity, to prevent another strike?”

Then, be sure to tune in and see if they answer our very important questions at the meeting. Be sure to wear your CAPS green!
