Take the Bargaining Survey TODAY.
Your CAPS Bargaining Team (CAPS Team) needs to hear from YOU – it’s the only way that we can represent YOUR demands at the table.
The last time the CAPS Team met with the State, we provided them with some summary data from the most up-to-date survey results. The only question from the State’s Team on the data was how many scientists were included in the survey data shared thus far. We need participation from ALL State Scientists to make an impact and send a clear message to the State: Scientists are engaged and ready to work to make their demands HEARD. As of today, we have only heard from XX% of you. If you’ve already taken the survey, great job! Please reach out to all your State Scientist colleagues and make sure they have, too.
If you can’t take the survey right now, set a reminder to do it as soon as you can. Your CAPS Bargaining Team meets with the State again on Tuesday, April 25. We need to hear from you and your colleagues.

In Review: April 17, 2023. CAPS Supplemental Insurance – Open Enrollment
All CAPS Members are automatically enrolled in a no-cost Basic Life Insurance plan provided by CAPS through The Standard. In addition, members have the option to purchase additional products from The Standard such as Supplemental Life Insurance and Long Term Disability. CAPS is pleased to introduce three new supplemental offerings from The Standard:
- Critical Illness
- Accident Insurance
- Hospital Indemnity
Open enrollment for the new products, as well as for Supplemental Life Insurance, is from April 17 through May 31. You can enroll via the Decision Support Tool which includes information about the benefits and cost for each product.
