URGENT: State employees should telework in Los Angeles due to 10 Freeway Closure.
A fire damaged part of the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning, leaving the freeway closed indefinitely in both directions. CalHR sent out a notice to all Department Directors and Labor Leaders that:
“Governor Newsom has declared a state of emergency while the state mobilizes resources to minimize what is expected to be a significant impact on travel in and around Los Angeles.
All state department Directors should determine which of your offices are impacted and who can telework during the period of closure and direct those employees to telework to minimize the impact on traffic conditions. Directors should ensure essential services are not interrupted, which could mean some employees may need to find alternate routes to work.
The fire affected the area between the East L.A. interchange and Alameda Street.
Please take immediate action to notify employees so they may begin teleworking as soon as possible to relieve traffic conditions in the area.”
