Emails from CAPS. There have been emails circulating to members and nonmembers  from an email that could be easily confused for the CAPS email. This is NOT CAPS. CAPS does not create or condone these emails. Official communications from CAPS will only ever come from caps@capsscientists.org

Members may be trying  to help by circulating news, but CAPS sends what it does and to whom on purpose, with lots of thought behind the decision. There are also generally extenuating circumstances that weigh into these decisions that most members are not privy to.  Mass emails that release information about Bargaining that hasn’t been coordinated with CAPS can be harmful to CAPS’ strategy and other internal efforts that have not yet been released.

Because of the recent uptick in non-CAPS blast emails about CAPS’ business, the Bargaining Team has requested that clarification be sent out to you regarding where to get your CAPS Bargaining Updates, CAPS Updates, CAPS Alerts, and any other important CAPS information: from CAPS’ official channels: our Social Media (@capsscientists), our official email account (caps@capsscientists.org), and the CAPS Website (www.capsscientists.org).

Should you receive a message NOT from the official CAPS email it is not CAPS and should not be opened or interacted with. If you’d like to start a conversation about bargaining, or stay updated on bargaining efforts, join the CAPS and participate in resources like the CAPS Bargaining Forum and worksite meetings.
