CAPS Teach-In & Lunchtime Rallies are TOMORROW! It’s almost here! Tomorrow, July 26, 2023, CAPS is holding a virtual Teach-In, followed by in-person rallies at your worksite! YOU can participate by joining your colleagues from 12 p.m. – 12:20 p.m. at the Virtual CAPS Teach-In (be sure to pre-register here. Then, from 12:30 – 12:59 p.m., join your colleagues outside your building in a Lunchtime Rally! See if your worksite is on the Lunchtime Rally Commitment Chart here. If it’s not, consider volunteering as the Rally Coordinator at your worksite by filling out this form here! Be sure to wear your CAPS shirt, and come prepared to chant. Need chant ideas? CalPERS Videos. Whether you’re mid-career or getting close to retirement, CalPERS offers member education videos to help you better understand your benefits. The free videos are on a set schedule that is posted to the CalPERS Website. You can register once for all the videos you’re interested in. In Review. July 11, 2023. CalPERS Released Preliminary Health Plan Premium Rates. The CalPERS Pension and Health Benefits Committee are working with the health plans to release final rates for Board approval in July. However, at the Committee’s June meeting, preliminary rates were released for 2024. All projected 2024 HMO rates can be viewed here, and PPO rates here. CAPS will provide members with the new rates, employee contributions for each plan, and changes from the current year once the information is released from CalPERS in July.
