Fellow Scientist Supervisors and Managers,
On Wednesday CalHR issued Pay Letter 24-31 that instructs the State Controller’s Office (SCO) to issue retroactive pay and the pay raises commensurate with many of the raises won in the recent rank-and-file contract and at the recent Supervisor Committee Meet and Confer with CalHR!
The Special Salary Adjustments (SSAs) included in the Pay Letter 24-31 apply to the Supervisors and Managers scientists not tied to Bargaining Unit 9. CalHR expects these raises to be reflected in pay warrants issued later this month, or early November if delayed. The pay scales found on CalHR’s website should be updated around the beginning of November.
The pay differentials mentioned in our email last week are also included in the Pay Letter and apply to all Unit 10 Supervisors and Managers:
- Longevity Pay (new, effective retroactive to 07/01/2024)
- Geographic Pay (new, effective retroactive to 07/01/2024)
- Fire Mission Pay (new, effective 10/01/2024)
- Bilingual Pay (increases effective 07/01/2024)
- Educational Pay Differential (improvements effective 10/01/2024).
If you have any questions regarding the Pay Letter, please reach out!
These wins are directly related to the strength of our union! If you haven’t yet joined your colleagues in CAPS/UAW 1115, it only takes a minute to join and begin to fight for more with us.
As we will seek to get more details in the coming weeks, the Supervisor and Managers Committee will provide more information on salary increases and other wins.
Join fellow CAPS-UAW Scientists to get out the vote for candidate for State Assembly Porsche Middleton in the Sacramento area, and George Whitesides, Pilar Schiavo, and Kipp Mueller in the LA area.
