CAPS extends a huge THANK YOU for everyone who Marched for Science on Saturday, April 22!
Hundreds of CAPS members marched, united, with tens of thousands of others, to advocate for fact-based policymaking. Very importantly, State Scientists were visible TOGETHER in our green shirts behind our banner: Science Matters!
What’s Next? There are some obvious actions that can be taken: registering to vote then VOTING! There are also additional actions you can take NOW:
Contact the President of the United States. Send the President a digital postcard detailing why YOU marched for science, and why he should support scientific institutions and science-based policies. And while our POTUS isn’t the only science skeptic out there, he can have the greatest influence on the funding and use of sound science in public policy.
Join “Sense about Science” in recognizing scientists every Wednesday!Starting today, Sense about Science USA will highlight a #SuperScientist. This person may be breaking into a certain field of science or already have made their mark on science. Contact them about the work you do (identify yourself only as a California State Scientist, leaving out your department names, class title, etc.), and be sure to mention CAPS’ slogan, Science Matters!
Send us pictures of you giving back. Do you volunteer as an after-school program instructor/assistant? Work on a community project outside of work hours? pictures of yourself and other members at your workplace participating in citizen science, and we’ll tweet it out as part of CAPS’ year-long media campaign.
Thank you again for all you did to ensure the Marches for Science around the state and the nation were successful events. Let’s use the momentum built from these marches to ensure our government supports fact-based science in its policies!
