When: Noon, March 1st (the room is reserved from 11:30-2:30)
Important Note: There’s no way anyone can knit a hat like this in one or two hours. We’ll schedule at least two more meetings (depending on interest) to give people additional time and help.
There are two options to create the hat:
For those of you who like to knit, or would like to learn how to knit – you will knit the hat and the i-cord – referenced in the pattern (the ‘grey matter’).
For those of you who don’t necessarily want to learn to knit but would like a hat, or you would like to make a hat really fast – you can use an existing hat and a tool that will help you create the i-cord.
The links provided below are just for reference. Feel free to get whatever brands you want or use what you already have! If you already own knitting needles in a different (but close) size, we can most likely make it work.
Links to items at JoAnns are included because it is pretty easy for most everyone to get to. If you have a local yarn shop you’d rather support- please do! If you need suggestions for a local yarn shop, we can definitely help you out.
It is possible that you might be able to share some of these items – it just depends on how fast you knit.
If you are a new or ‘newish’ knitter, we would strongly suggest using wooden or bamboo needles rather than metal ones. The metal is slipperier and loops fall off, which tends to frustrate new knitters.
